UDALGURI-SONITPUR, September 10: A 30-year-old youth has been missing from Orang Tea Estate in Assam’s Udalguri district for nearly a year, causing concern among his family and local residents.
The missing man was identified as Raj Tanti, son of Bharat Tanti and Padma Tanti, and a resident of Line No. 14 of Orang Tea Estate. According to his family, Raj left home in August last year, saying he was going to Mazbat, but did not return.
Family members said Raj had been experiencing mental health difficulties and had gone missing on previous occasions. Despite searches in various places, they have so far been unable to trace him.
The family appealed to anyone with information about Raj’s whereabouts to contact the nearest Orang Police Station or his mother, Padma Tanti, at 9282661900.
They have also announced a reward of Rs 20,000 for information that helps trace him.
