Biswanath Chariali: The two-day 30th Annual (Delegate) Convention of Sonitpur District ABSU concluded on Friday at the Swmdwn Bodo LP School playground in Bhalukpong 12 Mile, Sonitpur District, with an open session chaired by district president Enosh Mochahary.

Addressing the gathering as chief guest, ABSU President Dipen Boro highlighted the historic journey of the Bodo community, noting that despite progress through major movements and accords, including the 2020 BTR Peace Accord, several demands remain unfulfilled. He cited issues such as inclusion of additional Bodo villages in the BTR area, provincialization of Bodo-medium schools, land pattas for landless Bodos, improved road connectivity, electrification, drinking water, healthcare, and higher educational institutions. Boro expressed optimism that these demands would be addressed promptly for the overall development of the Bodo and other tribal communities in the region.
