Dhubri: The All Assam Journalists Forum (AAJF) celebrated its 3rd Foundation Day with a day-long programme held at the conference hall of the Town Hotel in Dhubri on Tuesday. The event was organized by the Central Committee of the Forum in collaboration with the Dhubri District Committee. The celebration commenced with the hoisting of the organizational flag by the Founder President of the Central Committee, Selim Sheikh, in the presence of the Forum’s Advisors and office bearers.
In the second session, heartfelt tributes were paid to the late legendary artist Zubeen Garg and to departed journalists from the region, honouring their invaluable contributions to art, culture, and journalism. This was followed by an open meeting presided over by Central President Selim Sheikh.

The meeting witnessed the presence of several distinguished guests, including Chief Advisor and senior advocate N. I. Choudhury, Advisor and Secretary of Gadadhar Kobi Chakra Ahid Khan Paris, Advisors Simul Sarkar and Taufiq Ahmed, Principal of Dhubri Junior College Faisal Haque, social worker Amit Kumar Dev, Administrative General Secretary Faruk Sheikh, Chief Organizational Secretary Suroj Kumar Mahato, Treasurer Abu Siddique Ahmed, District President Sanjeev Roy, and General Secretary Amitabh Karmakar.

Representatives from Akrashu Dhubri District Committee, Dhubri Lekhika Samaj, SPCA, and Kalpajyoti Foundation also attended the event, making the celebration a vibrant gathering of journalists, intellectuals, and social activists committed to strengthening responsible journalism in Assam.
