Guwahati: The 44th Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) Inter Unit Cricket Tournament 2025–26 got off to a spirited start today at the ACA Cricket Stadium, with Oil India Limited hosting the prestigious annual event. The tournament was formally inaugurated by Dr. Ankur Baruah, Director (HR), Oil India Limited, in the presence of senior officials from the Petroleum Sports Promotion Board and the Guwahati Sports Association. The opening ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation from players, officials and cricket lovers, setting the stage for five days of competitive action.

In his address, Dr. Baruah welcomed the participating teams and underscored the role of sports in fostering teamwork, discipline and camaraderie among public sector undertakings. He expressed pride in hosting the tournament and reaffirmed Oil India Limited’s commitment to promoting sports and wellness within the petroleum sector.
This year’s edition has drawn a record 13 teams, including players who have represented India and several current state-level cricketers. The opening match between OIL-A and Numaligarh Refinery Limited set an exciting tone for the tournament. Scheduled from February 22 to 26, matches will be held at the ACA Cricket Stadium, Barsapara, and the ACA Academy Ground, Fulung, offering top-class facilities for both players and spectators.
