8th Assam Premier Club Championship 2025–26 Begins at Judges’ Field

Guwahati: The 8th Assam Premier Club Championship 2025–26 (Headquarter Zone) commenced with much enthusiasm at the historic Judges’ Field, marking the start of another exciting season of premier club cricket in Assam. The tournament will be played from February 24 to March 6, 2026, featuring competitive encounters among leading club teams from the region.

The opening ceremony was graced by Tanmay Jyoti Mahanta, Senior Advocate of the Gauhati High Court and a noted sports organiser, who attended as the Chief Guest. His presence added prestige to the occasion and served as a source of motivation for the players.

Several senior officials of the Guwahati Sports Association were also present, including Paresh Chandra Das, President, Nasir Gul Khan, Sports Secretary (Cricket), and Munin Nobis, Chief Executive Officer. Their presence highlighted the Association’s continued commitment to promoting cricket and sporting excellence in the state.

Organised by the Guwahati Sports Association under the aegis of the Assam Cricket Association, the championship has emerged as an important platform for nurturing young talent, encouraging sportsmanship and strengthening the club cricket structure in Assam. The tournament is expected to witness high-quality performances and draw enthusiastic support from cricket lovers across the city.
