Imphal, Feb 9: The Manipur government has arranged special helicopter services between Imphal and Ukhrul to address urgent transportation requirements and ensure public convenience, according to an official statement issued by the state Transport Department.
As per the announcement, a special helicopter sortie has been scheduled for Tuesday, February 10, 2026, operating on the Imphal–Ukhrul–Imphal sector. In addition, the government is in the process of finalising two more special sorties on the same route for Wednesday, February 11, 2026. These flights will operate over and above the existing regular helicopter services.
Authorities have advised passengers to travel with minimal luggage, as the allowable baggage limit has been fixed at a maximum of seven kilograms per passenger due to operational constraints of the helicopter. For details related to bookings and confirmed schedules, passengers have been asked to get in touch with the Nodal Officer for Heli Services at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Ukhrul.
The Transport Department said the special arrangement has been made to ensure uninterrupted connectivity for residents, particularly in view of the prevailing situation in Ukhrul district and the need for reliable transport links. The initiative is aimed at facilitating smooth movement of people while maintaining essential services.
The press release was issued by Anurag Bajpai, Additional Chief Secretary (Transport), Government of Manipur, and circulated to senior state officials for information and necessary follow-up.
