Nagaland Ad Hoc Teachers Shift Hunger Strike to Directorate of School Education, Demand Regularisation

Kohima, Feb 13: The All Nagaland Ad hoc Teachers Group (ANATG)-2015 batch intensified their ongoing protest on February 13 by shifting their indefinite hunger strike to the Directorate of School Education in Kohima. The move marks the ninth day of their agitation and the third day of the indefinite hunger strike, which seeks the regularisation of 1,166 ad hoc teachers.

ANATG office-bearers explained that the decision to relocate the protest was prompted by the government’s failure to provide a concrete timeline or policy commitment on their long-standing demand. Despite repeated appeals and discussions with authorities, the teachers said no clear assurance had been given, forcing them to escalate their agitation.

The group reiterated its demand for immediate regularisation of services and urged the state government to address the issue promptly to prevent further intensification of the strike. The teachers warned that the protest would continue until a definitive resolution is communicated.
