Massive Fire Engulfs Walong in Arunachal Pradesh’s Anjaw District, Authorities Urge Caution

Itanagar, Feb 13: Walong town in Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh was swept by a massive fire on the night of February 13, sparking panic among residents and prompting urgent safety measures in the region. Emergency teams were deployed as authorities began assessing the extent of the damage caused by the blaze.

Local MLA and Minister Dasanglu Pul expressed serious concern over the scale of the incident and its impact on the community. She appealed to residents and travellers to exercise extreme caution and adhere strictly to safety advisories issued by authorities. Emphasising that the safety of local communities must remain paramount, Pul urged people to refrain from any reckless actions that could endanger lives, property, or the surrounding environment.

Describing Walong as a shared natural asset, the minister called on inhabitants to act responsibly and support ongoing efforts to control the situation. She also warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found deliberately causing harm or attempting to disturb peace in the area.

As emergency response operations continue, authorities have appealed for public cooperation to ensure the well-being of residents in Anjaw district and across Arunachal Pradesh.
