Imphal, Feb 14: Manipur Chief Minister Y. Khemchand Singh on February 14 paid homage to the 40 CRPF personnel who lost their lives in the 2019 Pulwama terror attack, stating that their sacrifice will never be forgotten. Remembering the fallen jawans, he said their courage and unwavering commitment to the nation continue to inspire generations.
In a message posted on X, Singh expressed profound respect for the martyrs, noting that their unparalleled bravery and love for the country remain etched in the nation’s memory. He affirmed that the people of Manipur stand in solidarity with the families of the fallen personnel and reiterated a collective commitment to uphold the unity, integrity and sovereignty of the country. He added that the legacy of the martyrs would continue to inspire citizens to serve the nation with honour and dedication.
Former Chief Minister N. Biren Singh also paid tribute, stating that the nation remains indebted to the bravehearts who placed duty above their own lives. In his message, he said their sacrifice strengthened the spirit of the nation and would guide and motivate future generations.
On February 14, 2019, a suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a CRPF convoy on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway at Lethpora in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir, killing 40 personnel in one of the deadliest terror attacks in the region. Tributes were observed across the country to honour the martyrs and remember their supreme sacrifice in service of the nation.
