Hagrama Mohilary Launches ‘Dispur Chalo Yatra 2026’, Targets All 15 BTR Seats

Guwahati, Feb 25: Hagrama Mohilary, Chief of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) and president of the Bodoland People’s Front, on February 25 inaugurated the ‘Dispur Chalo Yatra 2026’ from the Gossaigaon Legislative Assembly constituency, asserting that it is the NDA’s responsibility to secure all 15 seats in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) in the upcoming Assam Assembly elections.

Addressing party workers and supporters, Mohilary said the alliance must ensure a decisive victory in the BTR and expressed support for Himanta Biswa Sarma continuing as Chief Minister after the 2026 polls. The rally witnessed the participation of senior leaders and a large turnout of grassroots workers, with the yatra aimed at mobilising support across the BTR ahead of the elections.

Responding to speculation regarding the Rajya Sabha, Mohilary said whether Pramod Boro, president of the United People’s Party Liberal, joins the NDA is not a concern for the BPF. He added that no formal discussions on the issue have taken place within the alliance.
