Itanagar, March 6: Arunachal Pradesh । Authorities in Keyi Panyor district of Arunachal Pradesh have directed all food business operators to secure valid licences from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) along with mandatory trade licences, warning that failure to comply will invite penal action.

The directive was issued through an executive order on March 5 by Deputy Commissioner in charge Likha Tejji. According to the order, the instruction applies to all establishments involved in the food business across the district, including bakeries, hotels, restaurants, resorts and homestays.
Citing provisions under Section 31(1) of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, the order stated that every food business operator in India must obtain a valid licence or registration from the FSSAI before commencing operations. It further clarified that running any food-related establishment without a valid trade licence issued by the competent authority is illegal.
The district administration also instructed operators to strictly adhere to prescribed food safety and hygiene norms during the preparation, storage and sale of food items.
The order has taken immediate effect, with authorities cautioning that any operator found violating the directive will face penalties under the relevant provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act and other applicable laws.
