New Delhi: Delhi Police have booked Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, also known as Parth Sarthy, on charges of sexually harassing several female students of a south Delhi management institute. Multiple raids are underway to apprehend the accused, who remains absconding.
According to officials, a complaint was filed on August 4 at Vasant Kunj North Police Station by PGDM students enrolled under the EWS scholarship at Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management. During the inquiry, statements of 32 students were recorded, with 17 alleging that Saraswati used abusive language, sent obscene messages, and made unwanted physical contact. Some faculty and administrators were also accused of abetting him.

Police said 16 victims later deposed before a magistrate. Investigators have analysed CCTV footage, seized digital evidence, and conducted raids at locations linked to the accused. A Volvo car with a forged diplomatic plate, allegedly used by Saraswati, was also seized on August 25.
“Given the seriousness of the allegations, involving multiple victims, we are pursuing the case with priority,” a senior officer said, adding that lookout measures have been initiated at airports to prevent the accused from fleeing the country.

Meanwhile, the Sri Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Mahasamsthanam Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri, issued a public statement disassociating itself from Saraswati. It said he had engaged in “illegal and inappropriate activities” and confirmed that the Peetham’s Governing Council, led by educationist Dr Krishna Venkatesh, is taking steps to safeguard students and ensure uninterrupted academic programmes.
