Arunachal Pradesh Budget 2026–27 Focuses on Aero-City, Rural Roads and Tourism Infrastructure

Itanagar, March 10: The Government of Arunachal Pradesh has unveiled several major initiatives in the Budget 2026–27 aimed at strengthening connectivity and infrastructure across the state, with a focus on boosting tourism, investment and regional development.

One of the key proposals in the budget is the development of an Aero-City near Donyi Polo Airport at Hollongi, for which an allocation of Rs 90 crore has been announced. The project is expected to create world-class infrastructure around the airport and stimulate economic activity in the surrounding areas.

The government has also proposed the construction of a modern convention centre along with a hotel with 100 to 150 rooms at Hollongi. The facility is intended to support tourism, conferences and business events, strengthening the state’s capacity to host large gatherings and promote economic engagement.

To improve connectivity in remote areas, the budget has allocated Rs 500 crore under the Chief Minister’s State Rural Roads Development Programme for the construction of roads in locations that are not currently covered by the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.

In addition, the government has proposed setting up a dedicated Feasibility Fund to study and develop innovative transportation solutions suited to the state’s difficult terrain. Officials said these initiatives are expected to significantly improve connectivity while encouraging tourism, attracting investment and generating new opportunities for people across Arunachal Pradesh.
