Dibrugarh: The Chief Electoral Officer of Assam, Anurag Goel, visited Dibrugarh district and inspected election preparedness at Dibrugarh Polytechnic in view of the upcoming Assam Legislative Assembly Election 2026.
During the visit, he was accompanied by the District Commissioner and District Election Officer of Dibrugarh, Bikram Kairi, IAS. The officials reviewed the preparations already undertaken and held discussions with concerned authorities regarding various infrastructural arrangements, including the strong room, the distribution and collection centre for polling materials, and the counting centre.

The inspection aimed to assess the readiness of the facilities and ensure smooth conduct of the election process in the district. Senior Superintendent of Police of Dibrugarh Abhijit Gaurav Dilip, IPS, Chabua Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Jayanta Charan, Municipal Commissioner Joy Bikash, Tingkhong Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) Parikshit Phukan, Election Officer Pranjil Gogoi, officials of the Public Works Department (Building), along with other departmental officers and staff, were also present during the inspection.
