Two-Day International Pharma Conference Concludes at Dibrugarh University

Dibrugarh: The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of Dibrugarh University successfully organized a two-day international academic conference with the theme “Holistic Therapeutic Intervention and Translational Research” at the Rangghar Auditorium of the university. The occasion provided a lively forum for academics, researchers, and students to participate in insightful conversations about new developments and trends in the therapeutic and pharmaceutical sciences. The International Conference was inaugurated by Prof. Jiten Hazarika, Vice-Chancellor of Dibrugarh University. The inauguration was carried out in the distinguished presence of Prof. Hirendra Nath Sarma, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Sri Sri Aniruddhadeva Sports University as a Chief Guest, along with the Guest of Honour Prof. Sanjib Kakoti, Principal of Assam Medical College. Prof. Pankaj Das, Dean R&D, Dibrugarh University and Dr. Biman Bhuyan, Convener, was also present, adding great dignity and significance to the opening session of the conference. The inauguration concluded with a warm vote of thanks by Dr. Biman Bhuyan, Convener of the International Conference.

Following the inaugural ceremony, Prof. Hirendra Nath Sarma delivered the keynote address, highlighting the growing importance of translational research in bridging the gap between scientific discoveries and their practical applications in medicine and healthcare. He remarked that “holistic therapeutic research is the future of modern healthcare, where innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration play a vital role.”

The two-day event featured a series of invited lectures delivered by distinguished experts from reputed national and international institutions. Among the speakers were Prof. Bikul Das, Director and Senior Scientist, Thoreau Lab, Massachusetts Medical Device Development Center, University of Massachusetts, UMass Lowell, USA; Prof. Rakesh Kumar Singh, Head, Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh; Dr. P.D. Vindya Madushika Perera, Head, Department of Microbiology; Faculty of Medicine, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka; Prof. Praveen T. K. Principal College of Pharmacy-JSSATEN JSS University, Noida, Uttar Pradesh; Prof. Michael KH Ling, Head of Biomedical Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM); Dr. Rinku Baishya, Senior Scientist, Centre for Pre-clinical Studies, CSIR-North East Institute of Science and Technology (NEIST) Jorhat, Assam; Prof. Nitin Sharma, Center Head (Pharmaceutics), Amity Institute of Pharmacy, Amity University, Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
