BTS’ RM to Perform with Limited Movement at Comeback Event After Ankle Injury

Entertainment, March 20: RM of BTS will take the stage with restricted movement during the group’s comeback event after sustaining an ankle injury during rehearsals, his agency BIGHIT MUSIC said on March 20.

According to the official statement, the artist was injured on March 19 while preparing for “BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG,” scheduled for March 21 at Gwanghwamun. He was taken to hospital, where doctors diagnosed a sprain of the accessory navicular, a partial ligament tear and a talus contusion.

Medical advice requires him to wear a cast and strictly limit movement for at least two weeks to focus on recovery. Despite the injury, RM will appear at the comeback stage, although his on-stage performance, including choreography, will be partially limited.

The agency stated that the decision was made in line with medical guidance to prevent further strain, even as RM expressed his determination to participate in what has been described as a symbolic comeback stage.

The performance coincides with the release of BTS’s new album ARIRANG on March 20, marking the group’s return with a major project after a period of limited joint activity. The event at Gwanghwamun is expected to draw significant attention from both domestic and global audiences.

BIGHIT MUSIC reiterated that the company prioritises the health and safety of its artists, while confirming that other members will perform as scheduled.
