Kamjong Administration Orders Removal of Encroachments Along NH-102A Expansion Corridor

Imphal, March 28: The Office of the Deputy Commissioner in Kamjong district has issued a directive for the immediate removal of illegal and unauthorised structures along the proposed Right of Way of National Highway-102A (Shangshak–Tengnoupal Road), Package-I, citing obstruction to ongoing infrastructure work.

According to the notice, several structures have been erected within the notified stretch despite prior warnings issued under Section 3A of the National Highways Act, 1956. Authorities stated that these encroachments are hindering both current and planned widening of NH-102A.

Deputy Commissioner L. N. Kashung has directed individuals responsible for the encroachments to voluntarily dismantle the structures within 15 days from the date of the notice.

The administration has warned that failure to comply will lead to eviction and demolition without any further notice.

Officials from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways have also identified the encroachments as a significant obstacle to the timely execution of the highway project, underscoring the urgency of clearance along the corridor.
