Imphal, April 20: Manipur Police has arrested a 23-year-old man from Imphal East for allegedly sharing provocative and inflammatory content on social media that could disturb public order.
According to police, a Facebook account titled “Meetei Nongsa Lamyanba” was found posting material that included threats and calls for violence. Authorities said the content had the potential to incite unrest and disrupt communal harmony in Manipur.
The accused, identified as Tensubam Lamyanba Meitei, was taken into custody following an investigation into the account’s activity. He is reportedly associated with a group identified as AT.
Police said further investigation is underway to determine the full extent of his involvement and any possible links.
In an official statement, the police warned that strict action would be taken against individuals attempting to incite violence or create communal discord through social media or any other means.
