Robbery Bid Foiled in Dhubri, One Armed Accused Arrested After Residents Intervene

Dhubri, April 20: A robbery attempt was foiled by the alertness of a local resident in Dhubri late on April 20, resulting in the arrest of one armed suspect while two others managed to escape.

The incident occurred at the residence of Chandra Sekhar Das in Ward No. 2, where three individuals allegedly entered the house armed with sharp weapons and wooden clubs with the intention of looting valuables.

Das raised an alarm, drawing the attention of neighbours who rushed to the spot. During the commotion, two of the suspects fled, while one was overpowered by the family and confined inside a room.

Personnel from Dhubri Sadar Police Station arrived shortly after and took the accused, identified as Lal Chand Ali, into custody.

Police have registered a case and launched a search operation to trace the remaining suspects. Officials said the investigation is ongoing and advised residents to remain vigilant.
