Arunachal Junior Engineer Killed After Landslide Crushes Vehicle in Keyi Panyor

Itanagar, April 25: A Junior Engineer lost his life in a landslide-triggered incident at Potin in Keyi Panyor district after a large rock fell onto his vehicle during severe weather conditions.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred amid heavy thunder and storm activity, which triggered a landslide in the area. A massive rock dislodged from the hillside and struck a Fortuner in which the victim was travelling, killing him on the spot.

The deceased has been identified as Deken Sorang, who was serving as a Junior Engineer with the Rural Works Department and was posted at Pipsorang in Kra Daadi district. Officials indicated that intense rainfall, strong winds and lightning across parts of the state contributed to the landslide.

Officials have advised commuters to exercise caution while travelling through landslide-prone areas, particularly during adverse weather conditions.
