Assam’s Dhrubajit Gogoi Commissioned as NCC Sub-Lieutenant After Completing OTA Kamptee Training

Guwahati, April 29: In a notable achievement for Assam and the Northeast, Dhrubajit Gogoi, Assistant Professor of Economics at Dispur College and Care Taker Officer of the 48 Assam Naval Unit under the NCC North Eastern Region Directorate, has successfully completed the Pre-Commission Course at the NCC Officers’ Training Academy Kamptee and has been conferred the rank of Sub-Lieutenant in the NCC Navy.

The 90-day training programme, conducted from January 5 to April 4, 2026, saw participation from NCC officers across the country, with Gogoi being the only Naval Care Taker Officer selected from the North Eastern Region Directorate. During the course, he demonstrated consistent excellence across multiple disciplines, including physical training, drill, weapon handling, firing, and naval practical exercises such as boat pulling, ship modelling and semaphore.

In addition to his technical performance, Gogoi completed a diploma in Leadership and Personality Development and actively contributed to extracurricular activities including literary work, sports, anchoring, group discussions, bulletin maintenance and flag area preparation. His disciplined approach and performance earned appreciation from instructors and fellow trainees.

Upon completion of the course, he has been commissioned as an Associate NCC Officer, becoming the second ANO from Dispur College. Gogoi acknowledged the support extended by Dr Navajyoti Borah, Principal of Dispur College, and Tileshwar Nath, Commanding Officer of the 48 Assam Naval Unit, for their guidance throughout the training period.

He reaffirmed his commitment to mentoring cadets and contributing to the expansion of NCC activities in the region alongside his academic responsibilities.
