Snowfall Disrupts Nathula Route in Sikkim; Travel Restricted Beyond Tsomgo Lake

Gangtok, April 30: Fresh snowfall in Sikkim has disrupted road connectivity along the route to Nathula Pass, with extensive stretches of the roadway covered under snow, officials said.

Authorities have restricted vehicular movement on the Jawaharlal Nehru Road, permitting travel only up to Tsomgo Lake due to adverse weather conditions and safety concerns in the high-altitude region.

Travel beyond Tsomgo Lake has been temporarily suspended as officials continue to assess road conditions and monitor the impact of ongoing snowfall.

Tourists and travellers have been advised to exercise caution, plan their journeys in advance and adhere strictly to official weather updates and traffic advisories before heading towards Nathula.
