Jogighopa, May 3: A man was allegedly robbed of Rs 1.45 lakh by two motorcycle-borne miscreants in Jogighopa area of Assam’s Bongaigaon district, police said on May 1.
The incident occurred at Chaltapara when the victim, identified as Paritosh Malo, was returning home on a bicycle after withdrawing cash from the Jogighopa branch of State Bank of India.
According to police, Malo had withdrawn Rs 1.45 lakh from the bank and was carrying the amount in a bag. As he was passing through Chaltapara, two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle allegedly approached from the opposite direction, snatched the bag, and fled the scene.
The stolen bag reportedly contained his mobile phone, Aadhaar card, bank passbook and other personal documents.
Following the incident, the victim lodged a complaint at Jogighopa Police Station. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation, with efforts underway to identify and trace the accused, officials said.
