NEET-UG 2026 Conducted Smoothly with 96.92% Attendance Across India: NTA

National, May 4: The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) 2026 was conducted smoothly across India on May 3, recording an overall attendance of 96.92 per cent, according to the National Testing Agency.

Out of 22,75,011 registered candidates, approximately 22,05,035 aspirants appeared for the examination across 37 states and union territories, reflecting a high level of participation in one of the country’s largest entrance tests.

In a statement shared on X, the agency confirmed the successful conduct of NEET-UG 2026 and noted that the strong turnout highlighted both student commitment and public confidence in the examination process.

Officials said comprehensive arrangements were put in place to ensure fairness and smooth conduct, including the deployment of invigilators, observers, centre superintendents and city coordinators, along with coordination with district administrations and police authorities.

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan visited the NTA headquarters to review preparedness and monitor arrangements for the nationwide examination.

NEET-UG serves as the primary gateway for admission into MBBS, BDS and other allied medical courses in institutions across the country, attracting lakhs of aspirants each year.
