Guwahati, May 6: Senior leader Atul Bora has been elected as the leader of the legislature party of the Asom Gana Parishad, strengthening his position within the party’s legislative framework following the Assembly elections.
Keshab Mahanta has been appointed as the Deputy Leader, with the decisions finalised during a meeting of AGP legislators, reflecting internal consolidation within the party.
The AGP also announced key appointments within its legislature party structure. Tapan Das has been named Secretary, while Dharmeswar Roy will serve as the Chief Whip.
The formation of the legislature party leadership is viewed as a significant step as the AGP prepares to coordinate its legislative agenda and work in alignment with its alliance partners in the Assam Assembly.
