Udalguri-Sonitpur, May 8: A felicitation programme organised by several journalists’ organisations was held on May 8 to honour Himashree Mahato for her outstanding performance in the recently declared Higher Secondary Examination results in Assam.
Himashree, a resident of Chamuagaon in Orang, brought laurels to the state by securing 100 per cent marks in Geography. She also achieved an overall score of 93.6 per cent in the Science stream.
She is a student of Resonance Senior Secondary School and scored 94 in English, 89 in Alternative English, 100 in Geography, 93 in Biology, 92 in Chemistry and 90 in Physics.
Himashree is the daughter of the late Suren Mahato and Rupali Mahato. To mark her achievement, local residents and members of various organisations gathered at her residence and felicitated her in the presence of her mother.
Among those who extended congratulations were the Orang Journalists’ Association, AAPCU Udalguri District Committee, East Udalguri Press Club, Udalguri District Journalists’ Welfare and Development Committee, Udalguri District Conscious Citizens’ Committee and Nava Kumar Deka, central adviser of the Bodoland Journalists’ Association.
