Pema Khandu Welcomes MoU for Siang Upper Multipurpose Project

Itanagar, May 8: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu on Friday welcomed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding for the Siang Upper Multipurpose Project (SUMP), describing it as a historic and visionary step towards regional development.

In a post on X, Khandu said the agreement signed by residents of Ningging, Rising, Ngaming, Zido, Angging and Singging villages in Tuting reflected collective wisdom, unity and commitment towards a brighter future.

He termed the move a landmark decision and said it demonstrated how communities could unite in the larger interest of development and nation-building. Khandu also thanked villagers, community leaders and stakeholders for supporting the project and expressed hope that it would bring long-term prosperity and new opportunities to the region.
