Imphal, May 18: Security forces continued search and combing operations in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district as authorities intensified efforts to trace missing persons in the region amid ongoing security concerns.
According to official sources, teams carried out operations in hill areas located northwest of Leilon Vaiphei and Kharam Vaiphei villages in Kangpokpi district. Officials said the search exercise remains underway and further operations are continuing in the area.
In a separate development, security personnel on May 17 arrested an alleged active cadre of the proscribed outfit People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak during an operation in Imphal East district.
The arrested individual was identified as Laishram Jivan Singh, a resident of Langmeidong. He was apprehended from Khabam Lamkhai Makha Leikai under the jurisdiction of Heingang Police Station in Imphal East.
Officials said further investigation into the matter is in progress.
