Randeep Singh Surjewala Skips Crime Branch Appearance in Pawan Khera Case

Guwahati, May 23: Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala did not appear before the Crime Branch on May 23 despite being directed to attend in connection with an ongoing investigation linked to a case registered against Pawan Khera over remarks allegedly related to Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, wife of Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

According to reports, Surjewala had been asked to appear before investigators as part of the probe into statements allegedly made by Khera concerning the Chief Minister’s wife.

Sources indicated that during questioning by the Crime Branch, Khera had reportedly referred to Surjewala in connection with the matter.

The case against Khera was registered over allegations that false accusations had been made against Riniki Bhuyan Sharma.

Officials said the Crime Branch investigation into the matter remains underway.
