Itanagar, May 26: The Khonsa Battalion of the Assam Rifles commemorated the 10th Balidan Diwas of Hangpan Dada by organising a bike rally in Arunachal Pradesh on May 25, paying tribute to the soldier’s courage and sacrifice in service to the nation.
The rally commenced from Deomali Helipad and concluded at Hangpan Dada’s memorial in Borduria, drawing participation from around 70 individuals, including Assam Rifles personnel, local youth and civilians. The event was organised to honour the memory of the Ashok Chakra awardee, who laid down his life while serving the country.
Held as a tribute to his legacy, the programme also sought to strengthen values of patriotism, unity and national spirit among the public. Participants carried messages highlighting national integration, peace and the importance of remembering the sacrifices made by members of the armed forces.
The event concluded with floral tributes at the memorial site, where participants paid homage to the late soldier. Officials said the initiative aimed to preserve the ideals and legacy of Hangpan Dada while inspiring younger generations through his example of dedication and service to the nation.
