Kaliabor, May 27: A youth from Assam’s Kaliabor was found dead under unclear circumstances in Tamil Nadu, with family members alleging foul play and demanding a detailed investigation into the incident.
The deceased has been identified as Manoj Biswas, a resident of Mishamukh under the Misa Police Outpost area in Kaliabor.
According to reports, Manoj Biswas had gone missing from Chithanur in Tamil Nadu before he was later found dead at a hospital. The exact circumstances surrounding his death remain unclear.
News of the incident sparked grief at his residence in Mishamukh, where relatives, neighbours and local residents gathered following reports of his death.
Family members have alleged that the death was not natural and claimed that Manoj Biswas may have been murdered by a group of individuals. They have called for a proper investigation to establish the circumstances leading to his death and identify those responsible, if any wrongdoing is established.
The family has also appealed to the government for assistance in bringing his body back to Assam.
