Mukut Kalita Clears BCCI Level 1 Curator Examination

Guwahati: Assam cricket curator Mukut Kalita has achieved a significant milestone by successfully clearing the prestigious BCCI Level 1 Curator Examination, securing a place on the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Level 1 Curator Panel. Kalita was the only candidate from Assam to appear for the examination and passed with distinction, highlighting his expertise in pitch preparation and ground management. The examination was conducted for 17 neutral curators from across the country who were invited by the BCCI to undertake the assessment.

With the qualifying benchmark set at a challenging 70 per cent, only six candidates managed to clear the examination, making Kalita’s achievement even more noteworthy. A member of the BCCI’s neutral panel of curators since 2016, Kalita has played an important role in preparing and maintaining cricket pitches for several domestic and national-level tournaments. Over the years, he has earned recognition for his professionalism and technical knowledge in ensuring quality playing surfaces for competitive cricket.

His success in the Level 1 Curator Examination is expected to further enhance Assam’s presence in Indian cricket administration and ground management. The achievement has also been hailed as a proud moment for the state’s cricket fraternity, reflecting the growing contribution of Assam’s professionals to the national sporting landscape.
