20 Litres of Illicit Country Liquor Seized During Special Drive in Manipur’s Bishnupur

Imphal, June 1: Security forces seized around 20 litres of Distilled Indigenous Country Liquor (DIC) during a special enforcement drive conducted in and around Saiton Bazar under the jurisdiction of PGCI Police Station in Manipur’s Bishnupur district on May 31.

The operation was part of the ongoing campaign against illegal liquor and narcotics being carried out across the state. During the drive, security personnel conducted searches at multiple locations in and around the market area and recovered the illicit country-made liquor.

Officials said the seized liquor has been taken into custody and further legal proceedings are being initiated in accordance with the law.

The latest seizure comes amid intensified efforts by the Manipur Police and security agencies to curb illegal liquor trade and narcotics trafficking. Authorities stated that several successful operations carried out in recent months have resulted in multiple seizures and arrests, reflecting continued action against unlawful activities linked to liquor and drugs.

Security agencies reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining sustained enforcement measures and ensuring strict action against individuals involved in the illegal manufacture, transportation and sale of prohibited substances.
