Four Arrested in Assam’s Bajali for Alleged Links to Interstate Cyber Fraud Network

Bajali, June 7: Assam Police have arrested four persons in Bajali district for their alleged involvement in cyber fraud activities linked to an interstate network, officials said on Sunday.

The accused have been identified as Jitumoni Roy, Ranjan Das, Aditya Tiwari and Rahul Kumar. They were apprehended during a police operation carried out by Sarupeta Police under the supervision of Bajali Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Bhabarnath.

The arrests followed an investigation into cyber fraud cases reported from the area.

Police said they are examining the specific roles played by the accused and assessing the scale and reach of the alleged network. Officials are also working to determine whether the operation had links extending beyond the state.

The arrested individuals are currently being questioned as part of the ongoing probe. Investigators are attempting to identify other possible associates and uncover additional connections related to the alleged cyber fraud racket.
