Kaushik Rai Reviews Cleanliness Arrangements During Ongoing Ambubachi Mela

DISPUR, June 24: Assam’s Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Kaushik Rai conducted an early morning inspection of cleanliness and sanitation arrangements along the stretch from Bhutnath Cremation Ground to Maa Kamakhya Temple as the Ambubachi Mela continued in Guwahati.

The minister reviewed the measures undertaken by the Guwahati Municipal Corporation to maintain hygiene and environmental conditions in and around the temple area, where a large number of devotees had gathered from across the country and abroad for the ongoing religious congregation.

The inspection was attended by GMC Mayor Mrigen Sarania and GMC Commissioner Chinmoy Prakash Phukan.

Officials said the state government had placed special emphasis on ensuring a clean and hygienic environment for pilgrims visiting the shrine during the sacred Ambubachi Mahayog. The municipal body had been carrying out continuous sanitation drives across key locations to manage the influx of visitors.

Rai assessed the arrangements on the ground and reviewed the overall preparedness of civic authorities to maintain cleanliness and facilitate a smooth experience for devotees seeking blessings at the temple during the festival period.
