Hari Prasad Saikia Resigns from Raijor Dal, Citing Need to Reassess Political Future

Hari Prasad Saikia has resigned from all organisational responsibilities and the primary membership of Raijor Dal, stating that he intends to reassess his future in public and political life.

In a resignation letter addressed to the party president on Tuesday, June 30, the former Vice President of Raijor Dal said the decision followed “careful thought and reflection” regarding his role in public affairs.

“I have decided to resign from all organisational responsibilities entrusted to me, as well as from the primary membership of Raijor Dal, with immediate effect,” Saikia wrote in his letter.

He requested the party leadership to accept his resignation and formally relieve him of all duties with immediate effect. Saikia also expressed gratitude to the party leadership, colleagues and workers for the opportunity to serve during his tenure.

While stepping away from the organisation, he clarified that his commitment to serving the people of Assam would continue in some capacity in the future.

“I remain committed to serving the people of Assam and contributing positively to public life in whatever capacity I may have the opportunity to do so in the future,” the letter stated.

However, Saikia did not outline any immediate political plans or provide specific reasons beyond his stated intention to reconsider his future public engagement.
