Arunachal’s April Blossom Foundation Receives Best School Award for Excellence in Special Education

April Blossom Foundation, a school dedicated to the education of children with special needs at Lekhi Village in Naharlagun, Arunachal Pradesh, has been recognised with the Best School Award at the SA Indian School Awards for its contribution to special education.

The award was presented by renowned Indian boxer Mary Kom in recognition of the institution’s sustained efforts to provide quality education and support for children with special needs.

Over the past five years, the foundation has been offering free education along with a range of therapeutic services designed to help children develop essential life skills and reach their individual potential.

The institution’s early intervention programmes have produced encouraging outcomes, with many children diagnosed with autism making notable progress. Several of them have subsequently been able to transition into mainstream schools after receiving therapy and educational support at the foundation.

April Blossom Foundation continues to focus on inclusive education and community service by providing education, therapy and care free of cost to children with special needs and extending support to their families. The recognition highlights the foundation’s ongoing commitment to improving the lives of children through accessible and specialised educational services.
