AASAA Stages Protest in Titabor’s Melamati Over Alleged Irregularities in Orunodoi Beneficiary List

Titabor: The All Assam Adivasi Students’ Association (AASAA) staged a protest today at Melamati village panchayat in Titabor, alleging irregularities in the selection of beneficiaries under the Orunodoi scheme.

Protestors accused local authorities of political bias and favoritism, claiming that genuine and previously eligible beneficiaries were unfairly excluded from the list. The organization asserted that the scheme meant for economically weaker sections has been misused for political gains.

AASAA leaders demanded complete transparency in the beneficiary selection process and called for strict action against officials responsible for the alleged discrepancies. They urged the government to ensure that assistance under the Orunodoi scheme reaches truly deserving families without any discrimination.

During the protest, demonstrators also held the panchayat chairperson accountable, seeking a formal explanation for the alleged mismanagement in implementing the welfare scheme.
