A 21-year-old man was found dead near the Deputy Commissioner’s office complex in Aalo, the headquarters of Arunachal Pradesh’s West Siang district, on Tuesday morning, police said.
The deceased was identified as Nitish Kumar Ram. According to West Siang Superintendent of Police Kardak Riba, the body was discovered at around 7.50 am near the DC office complex.
Police recovered a mobile phone and a Bluetooth device from the scene. Preliminary findings indicated that the deceased had reportedly been facing mental health challenges.
A magisterial inquest was conducted, and the body was shifted to the mortuary for further legal formalities.
Investigators said CCTV footage from the nearby government establishment did not reveal the involvement of any other person, and no evidence of foul play was found. Based on the preliminary inquiry, no criminal case has been registered.
Police said the investigation is continuing in accordance with legal procedures.
