Arunachal Deputy CM Chowna Mein Reviews Budget Projects, Stresses Timely Implementation

Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein has directed all government departments to give top priority to the timely implementation of major initiatives announced in the state’s 2026–27 budget, while reviewing the progress of projects across various sectors.

Mein, who also holds the Finance portfolio, assessed the status of several budget proposals and ongoing works, stressing the need to accelerate flagship programmes, including the Chief Minister’s Rural Development Programme and the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Power Development Programme.

In a post on social media, the Deputy Chief Minister said equal attention must be given to key sectors such as education, healthcare, drinking water supply, physical connectivity and skill development to ensure balanced and inclusive growth across the state.

He also directed departmental heads to submit revised operational guidelines wherever required to facilitate smoother implementation of projects. Officials were further instructed to communicate any additional funding requirements at the earliest to avoid delays in execution.

Earlier, the Arunachal Pradesh government had presented a budget of Rs 36,607 crore for the 2026–27 financial year, with a strong focus on strengthening infrastructure, improving governance and promoting people-centric development initiatives.
