Randeep Hooda Appeals for Peace in Manipur During Meeting with Chief Minister

Bollywood actor Randeep Hooda has called on the people of Manipur to unite and work towards lasting peace and harmony during a meeting with Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh in Imphal.

Hooda, accompanied by his wife and Manipuri actor Linthoingambi Laishram, met the chief minister at his official residence on Thursday, according to an official statement.

During the meeting, Hooda congratulated Singh on taking charge as chief minister despite the state’s challenging law and order situation. He appealed to people across all communities to come together as one family and contribute to the restoration of peace and reconciliation.

Responding to the actor’s remarks, Singh acknowledged the challenges of assuming office amid the ongoing crisis but expressed confidence that the situation in the state would gradually return to normal.

The chief minister highlighted the government’s recent peace initiative in Jiribam district, saying the trust deficit among communities had reduced considerably and that residents had started living together peacefully once again.

Singh said the government was making every effort to protect the lives and interests of citizens and urged all communities to actively support the ongoing peace process to help restore harmony and strengthen social cohesion across the state.

Following the meeting, Hooda, Laishram and the chief minister shared a traditional meal of khechri as part of the Rath Yatra (Kang) festival celebrations.
