Manipur Rajya Sabha MP A Sharda Devi on July 29 urged the Centre to expedite the approval of proposals submitted by the state government, with particular emphasis on the welfare and rehabilitation of internally displaced persons (IDPs) affected by the ongoing crisis in the state.
During a meeting with Union Minister for Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi at Parliament House, Sharda Devi discussed key issues concerning Manipur’s development in the context of the prevailing socio-political situation.
Sharing details of the meeting on social media, the Rajya Sabha MP said she requested the Union minister to facilitate the early clearance of various proposals and demands put forward by the Manipur government. She stressed the need for timely intervention and enhanced support to address the challenges faced by communities displaced by the unrest.
According to Sharda Devi, the discussions primarily centred on measures to strengthen the welfare and rehabilitation of internally displaced persons.
