Guwahati, July 30: Two people lost their lives in a road accident on National Highway 27 at Betkuchi in the early hours of Thursday after a speeding truck crashed into a stationary truck, police said.
According to preliminary information, the moving truck rammed into the parked vehicle with considerable impact, leaving the front portion of the truck extensively damaged.
The driver and the handyman travelling in the truck that collided with the stationary vehicle suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Police personnel reached the spot soon after the accident and launched an investigation to ascertain the circumstances that led to the collision. The identities of the deceased had not been established at the time of filing this report, and further details are awaited.
