Manipur Chief Minister Y. Khemchand Singh on Wednesday held a meeting with Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Inspector General Clay Khongsai to review the state’s internal security situation, law enforcement and civic action programmes.
The meeting took place at the state secretariat in Imphal and focused on strengthening coordination between the Manipur government and the ITBP on matters relating to security and public welfare.
In a social media post after the meeting, the Chief Minister said the discussions covered key issues concerning internal security, law enforcement and civil-military civic action initiatives being implemented in the state.
Singh appreciated the contribution of the ITBP in enhancing public security and commended the force’s Civic Action Programmes, stating that they had helped build trust among local communities through welfare and healthcare initiatives.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment to maintaining peace and stability, the Chief Minister said the state would continue to work closely with all security agencies to ensure effective law enforcement and promote public welfare.
Clay Khongsai, a 1996-batch IPS officer from Manipur, previously served as the state’s Additional Director General of Police before being appointed Inspector General of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs in August 2023.
