GUWAHATI, Aug. 5: The 1st Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Sonapur, organised a mini marathon and patriotic run under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign at Lokhra on Wednesday as part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations.
The programme was organised by ‘E’ Company, Lokhra, under the guidance of Commandant Sunil Kaushik and was flagged off by Inspector (GD) Milan Biswas, Company Commander of ‘E’ Company.
Addressing the participants, Biswas said the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign aims to strengthen patriotism, promote respect for the National Flag and reinforce national unity. He urged people to hoist the Tricolour at their homes and contribute to nation-building.
The event sought to foster patriotism among SSB personnel and local residents while promoting physical fitness and encouraging a healthy, disciplined lifestyle.
SSB personnel, local villagers, youths and other residents participated enthusiastically, carrying the National Flag and raising patriotic slogans throughout the run.
The programme concluded with participants taking a pledge to uphold the honour of the National Flag, serve the nation and lead healthy and disciplined lives.
