BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary Leads Relief Mission to Flood-Hit Sivasagar

Sivasagar, Aug 6: BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary on Thursday visited flood-affected areas of Assam’s Sivasagar district with a 104-member relief team and distributed essential relief materials to families affected by the recent devastating floods.

Mohilary was accompanied by Assam MLA Arup Kumar Dey during the visit, while Sivasagar MLA Akhil Gogoi received the delegation and joined the team in visiting the flood-hit areas.

The relief team brought thousands of bedsheets, mosquito nets, hygiene kits and other essential supplies for families affected by the floods. The materials were distributed in localities where prolonged inundation has severely disrupted daily life.

Expressing his appreciation, Akhil Gogoi thanked Mohilary and the BTC team for travelling from Kokrajhar to personally deliver relief assistance to the affected residents.

Gogoi said the relief materials, including bedsheets, mosquito nets, hygiene products and other essential items, would provide much-needed support to families struggling in flood-ravaged areas, particularly as large parts of Sivasagar town remain submerged.

He also praised the BTC team’s decision to visit the affected areas in person rather than simply dispatching relief materials, describing the gesture as a meaningful expression of solidarity with the flood-hit people during a difficult time.
