Guwahati: In a festive gesture ahead of Diwali, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced a 3% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR) for state government employees and pensioners, bringing the total rate to 58%.
The announcement, made as part of Diwali celebrations, aims to extend financial relief and appreciation to the state’s workforce.
Sharing the news on X, the Chief Minister wrote, “This is our small gesture of gratitude to the tireless karmayogis who keep the wheels of governance moving.”
The revised rates will benefit thousands of government employees and pensioners across Assam, providing a festive boost to household incomes.
