Dima Hasao Police have arrested six alleged drug traffickers and seized 209.68 grams of suspected heroin in three separate anti-narcotics operations conducted across the district over the past five days.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs, police carried out coordinated operations at Mahur Railway Station, Maibang Railway Station and Harangajao, leading to the arrests and recovery of the suspected contraband.
During the first operation at Mahur Railway Station, police arrested one person and recovered 54 grams of suspected heroin concealed in four plastic soap cases.
In the second operation at Maibang Railway Station, three persons were apprehended. Police recovered 23.22 grams of suspected heroin, packed in two plastic soap cases, from their possession.
The third operation was conducted at Harangajao, where police arrested two more accused and recovered 132.46 grams of suspected heroin concealed in 10 plastic soap cases.
Across the three operations, police seized a total of 209.68 grams of suspected heroin, along with five mobile phones and a car.
Further investigation is underway to determine the source of the seized contraband and identify other individuals allegedly linked to the suspected drug trafficking network.
