Quarry Blast Damages House Roof in Jorabat’s 11 Mile Area, Residents Seek Action

The roof of a house was damaged after rocks from a private quarry blast struck a residential area at 11 Mile in Jorabat around 4 am on August 7.

No injuries were reported in the incident, although the damage to the house has raised concerns among local residents over the safety of people living near the quarry.

Residents alleged that early-morning blasting has been taking place repeatedly in the area and said such activities pose a serious threat to both lives and property.

They urged the authorities to take immediate action against the quarry operators and ensure that blasting operations are conducted strictly in accordance with prescribed safety norms to prevent similar incidents in the future.
