Seven youths injured in alleged attack by gamblers in Nagaon’s Batadrava

Seven youths were injured after they were allegedly assaulted by a group of gamblers while recording video footage of an ongoing gambling session at Dhania Bheti Kalabazar in Batadrava, Assam’s Nagaon district.

According to allegations, gambling activities have been taking place openly in the area for an extended period, with claims that those involved have continued operating despite the alleged knowledge of Batadrava Police.

One of the injured youths, identified as Rafiqul Islam, was reportedly admitted to a hospital in critical condition following the alleged assault.

The incident has raised concerns among residents, with allegations of unchecked gambling activities and questions over the circumstances that led to the confrontation.

Following the incident, office-bearers of the All Assam Minority Sangram Parishad submitted a complaint at Batadrava Police Station, seeking action against those allegedly involved in the attack.

Police are expected to investigate the complaint and establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault and the reported gambling activities in the area.
